Don't miss Barcelona Aquarium if you travel there with kids

If you travel to Barcelona with kids, then L’Aquàrium de Barcelona is one of the places where you definitely must go. It's the most important marine leisure and education centre in the world concerning the Mediterranean. A series of 35 tanks, 11,000 animals and 450 different species, an underwater tunnel 80 metres long, six million litres of water and an immense Oceanarium, the only one in Europe, turn this centre into a unique, reference leisure show that has already been visited by more than 14 million people.

You can go there with kids of all ages, we are sure they all will be fascinated watching all those sea species! At least our 19-month old was so excited, she learned several new words to distiguish different species and the underwater tunnel with sharks swimming over us was such a success!

The Explora! zone was also the place where our daughter was running from one attraction to another, climbing up the big turtle, checking different boxes, sliding down the water tube, pushing buttons in the caves. All other kids were doing the same and it was awesome to watch them being so curious and exploring!

Aquarium is located in Port Vell (Old Port) of Barcelona, so after enjoying the sea world you can go for a walk along the port, have a lunch or dinner in some  great restaurant (don't forget to order seafood, it's simply delicious and so fresh there!) or shop at Maremagnum, amazing mall where you can find great fashion, shops for kids, accessories, souvenirs, cafes...
